Transportation Requirements
Within the state of California:
- A good quality halter of either leather or flat nylon along with a lead rope for each horse.
- Leg protection, such as shipping boots or standing wraps, if desired.
- A completed and signed transportation contract which includes all of your pick up and delivery information, as well as all of your horse’s info, too.
- Any special information on your horse or pick up/delivery locations such as, “my horse only eats Timothy hay” or “don’t feed him anything at all.” Also anything unusual about the pick up/delivery area such as, this is a residence with a long skinny driveway with no room to turn your truck and trailer around.
Traveling across state lines from one state to another:
- A good quality halter of either leather or flat nylon along with a lead rope for
each horse.
- Leg protection, such as shipping boots or standing wraps, if desired.
- A completed and signed transportation contract which includes all of your pick
up and delivery information, as well as all of your horse’s info, too.
- A current, original, Health Certificate no older than 29 days.
- An original, negative Coggins report no older than 6 months.
- If your state requires a Brand report, you will need to provide this also.
- Any special information on your horse or pick up/delivery locations such as, “my horse only eats Timothy hay” or “don’t feed him anything at all.” Also anything unusual about the pick up/delivery area such as, this is a residence with a long skinny driveway with no room to turn your truck and trailer around.
